Metro Recycling was founded in 1976 by Chuck Francis in his mother's driveway in Norwood, Ohio. Metro was started with a $1000.00, which was used to purchase and rebuild an old truck. In the beginning we did furniture and trash removal, and later moved into paper recycling. In a short period of time we went from a 1000 square foot warehouse to a 5000 square foot warehouse, then to a 12,000 square foot warehouse. We then moved to a 40,000 square foot warehouse, and eventually into our present 100,000 square foot warehouse located on over 5 acres, with 20 docks off an I-75 exit.

Our facility, which was purchased in 1984, is strategically placed in the Midwest, close to major freeways. I-74 and I-71 are both less than two miles away. Because of our location, we can work with a company 100 miles away as easily as a company located next door to us, for almost the same freight cost.
